Create, connect and play with the goddess.
Requirements are a clear open mind and childlike wonder.
You are invited to the world of the Goddess. She is known by many names and faces, from many traditions and cultures but she does not ask you to give up the faith you were born into or the spiritual beliefs you cherish. She comes into your life in addition to any other form of spirituality you hold dear. She comes to enhance who you already are and open a new way for you to see and know yourself.
A Goddess adventure spirit is a necessity!
A ritual is a great way to begin our goddess adventure.
Full Moon Ritual
- Check a moon phase calendar for the next upcoming full moon.
- Create a sacred space and arrange a time to perform the ceremony (preferably at nighttime and outdoors under the moonlight).
- Write down on separate slips of paper the things you want to release or change.
- Supply suggestions: fire proof calderon or cooking pot to toss the burning paper inside, candle, essential oil, matches or lighter, water (to put out the fire afterwards), and smudge sticks for cleansing.
- Cleanse your sacred area with an opening prayer, a sage smudging, and/or by burning some incense. Invite your guides, angels, masters, or teachers to be at your side throughout the ceremony.
- Annoint with essential oil and light one or more candles. Look to the skies. Breathe in the night air.
- One by one, read out loud the words you have written on each slip of paper. Set your intention to release the item/addiction/attitude from your life. Set it to fire and place it in the calderon. If you have a campsite barbecue or bonfire going that's cool, just toss the slips of paper into the fire one by one. If you are doing this ritual with a group of others take turns reading your words. If these things are too personal to read out loud, read them silently to yourself. Just remember... our words have power. Saying - "Be Gone" audibly and loudly can be very freeing. Go ahead, howl at the moon if you've a mind to. Have some fun!
- Thank the spirits. Be safe. Put out the fire.
However you choose to experience the Goddess – as a bowl for healing and change or a divine living symbol. Creating, connecting and playing with the Goddess within you offers great changes in your life.
Ulysses:
“To acknowledge the Goddess in someone is to acknowledge their importance.
It is also to legitimize their every feeling as a woman. It is to let them cry and
Let them sing. It is to openly express adoration of the place of everyman’s birth.
There is worship but here is frailty not perfection and there is blessedness not
religion.”
"Imagine there is someone in your life you can depend on to pamper, heal, revitalize you and treat you royally. Pick something that would bring you great pleasure and agree to give it to yourself." (The Rev. Laurie Sue Brockway)
“Light a candle and relax in a favorite chair. Take yourself to a movie, out to dinner
or to a museum exhibit you have been meaning to see; buy yourself a gift. The best way to keep your soul nourished is to create an ongoing environment for this nourishment."
(The Rev. Laurie Sue Brockway)
